Firebird - Finale

The piece begins slowly with low-pitched instruments. Flutes then take over. The music is repetitive for the first few bars, then begins to crescendo dramatically. The music is very legato, and eventually starts to be tongued normally at the end of the crescendo. The piece rapidly accelerates suddenly into a happy and exciting moment. It then slows greatly and decrescendos for drama before strong and long note at the end.

  1. Overall very good. You make specific observations about dynamics, articulation and the mood of the pieces. Next time start to address ensemble issues (phrasing, balance, intonation).
